We all love to dress our pet's up for halloween. Whether or not the dog feels the same way is to be determined. Here are the top 3 on the most popular list according to USA Today and Consumer Affairs.

1. Pumpkin 

The most popular costume for 2017 is a pumpkin. Picture a cute little pug in a tiny pumpkin outfit or a yellow lab in a larger pumpkin outfit. It really is a diverse option for any size dog and an absolutely adorable idea.

2. Hot Dog

The hot dog comes in at number two. Let's be real, who doesn't love a dachshund in a hot dog costume? This is another great idea, as it too, is an option for any size dog.

3. Dog, Lion or Pirate

Ok, so it looks like there was a tie for third place. So let's take a look at each option. The first one, dog, um... what? No. Next.

Lion is next on the list. This is a fun option for any dog. A dog dressed up as a lion is sure to get one of two reactions, depending on the size of the dog. A small dog: Awww! That is so cute! Big dog: Ha Ha Ha, that is so cute! Either way, it is sure to be a hit!

Pirate comes in next. A dog in a pirate costume is always cute. However, have you ever attempted to put a eye patch on your pup? Yeah, not going to happen. Our favorite is the little pirate Chihuahua's that look like they're walking on two legs. That always gets a chuckle.
