How can senior pets change your life?

November is Adopt a Senior Pet Month. We all love to gush over how cute puppies are. They really are the cutest! But have you thought about the benefits of owning a senior pet? They can bring so much to your family's life. Here are a few reasons why you should consider adding a senior pet to your home.

They still have a lot of love to give. Cuddling up with your senior pet for family movie night is one of the best things in the world. Generally senior pets have lived in a home with a family so they are familiar and socialized to noises associated with a household of people.

They are usually potty trained and have established some manners as well. This makes them great companions. You don't have to worry about the puppy chewing cords in the wall or, leaving a surprise for you in your shoe. They can usually recall by command so it makes it much easier to get your pup to come when you call them for instance.

For the biggest reason of them all, is it will make you feel good that you are saving a pet. Senior pets are often looked over next to their cuddly cute neighbors, the puppies. You will not only save their life, you might just find out they save yours. We hope you at least consider opening your home to a senior pet next time you are looking to add an addition to your pack.
